The Century Public House

Century Public House is a neighborhood-friendly gastropub located just two blocks from Lake Michigan in Chicago's culturally rich Rogers Park neighborhood. The Century is housed, along with the 300 seat Morse Theatre, in a LEED certified "green" renovation of a 1912 vaudeville and silent movie house. The Century's interior creates a classic period appropriate Chicago pub, complete with antique lighting, intimate booth seating and a local master-crafted bar, portions of which are constructed using locally sourced hardwoods milled from storm-downed trees. Scheduled to open in late summer, 2008, The Century's menu will draw upon the rich foundation of traditional Midwestern fare, emphasizing seasonally appropriate ingredients brought together under the supervision of Iowa-born, Illinois-raised, Wisconsin-cultured Executive Chef Peter Camphouse. Offerings made in house, from sausage to ice-cream, using locally sourced produce dairy and meats will be prevalent on our menu. The Century's wine-list will feature small production artisinal wines from around the world; our Whiskey list will be strongly rooted in Kentucky, with a well considered nod to Scotland. The Century's unpretentious regional cuisine will perfectly set the stage for a concert in the Morse Theatre. But the Century will be a dining destination in its own right, offering excellent food and drink in a unique, relaxed atmosphere you won't be able to find anywhere else.
